I have finally found Nilgai paradise! I have been hunting for a
bull Nilgai on at least seven different hunting trips. These trips
were on pastures on the King Ranch and Kennedy Ranch and have never
even had a broad side - still shot, much less be able to take
pictures of what a good bull Nilgai looks like. My first trip with
Lendell with L&L changed all of this. We got to the Ranch pasture
at 3:30 p.m. to try to squeeze an afternoon hunt in since the
"official" hunt didn't start until the next day. By 3:45 I had
already seen and photographed more bulls than I had seen on the last
7 trips combined!
We stalked, that's right....stalked, a nice bull and by 4:10 p.m. I
had my first "Blue Bull" on the ground. It was a good bull,
especially since it was my first, that measured 8-7/8". The best
part about the hunt is that Lendell does not shoot from the truck,
but likes to get away from the vehicle so it doesn't spook the
animals in the future. All of the other hunts we hunted from
vehicles and always had to take running shots. I spent the rest of
the day and the next filming the other hunts and got some great
footage.
I would suggest this hunt to any hunter, especially one that has
been on other nilgai hunts. Nowhere in South Texas will you find
this many bull nilgai and this kind of professional guide service.
The guide Lendell and the ranch foreman Juan that accompanied us are
first class individuals. I will be a return customer.

Hunting with Lendell Laxton, is a hunting experience hard to put
into words. I've had the pleasure of hunting with Lendell all my
life, and have always had successful hunts. The feeling you get when
you walk up to that trophy you just bagged is a feeling you get
quite often hunting with Lendell. His hunting and tracking
experience puts you in the path of your trophy most of the time, he
never seems to amaze me, he is like one of them. He hunts harder
than anybody I know, he is always the first one up in the mornings
and the last in bed and does what ever it takes to get you the
trophy animal of a life time. While hunting with Lendell I have
always seem to get the biggest, maturest animals the ranches have to
offer and always know walking up to that trophy I just shoot is not
going to disappoint me. The hunts he has to offer are the hunts many
people search a life time to find, Lendell makes a hunt much more
than just a hunt, I have seen him make many people very happy and
enjoy listening to the stories they have to tell after there hunting
experience, and after hunts like that you forget about the bologna
sandwiches and day old fried pies, ha ha. I could go on and on
talking about the hunting experiences I have had with Lendell, those
of you that have hunted with him know exactly what I am talking
about, If you have not hunted with him I strongly recommend booking
a hunt with him, you will not be disappointed. I am looking forward
to many more successful hunting seasons, and you can bet I call L&L
hunting service for my next hunting experience. I am very proud to
be his his son and enjoy passing all the knowledge of hunting he has

One of my favorite hunts in North America, and one of the most
underrated, is hunting Nilgai bulls along the coastal plains of
south Texas. I've hunted many of the ranches that offer free-ranging
Nilgai hunts, but the Ranch near Raymondville with L&L Hunting
Services is by far the best outfit I have hunted with. The number
and quality of bulls you will see is second to none. Also, because
hunting pressure is light, you can spot and stalk these bulls which
makes for a very enjoyable and memorable experience. I've been
fortunate enough to have hunted Africa eight times and hunting these
large antelope fair chase is the closest thing I have found to
replicating the true safari state of mind. I would recommend this
hunt without reservation, to anyone who wants a fun, action-packed
adventure. Bring plenty of gun and have a great time!

Hunting with Lendell and L&L Hunting Services is a great and
memorable experience. I recently hunted Nilgai with Lendell on his
south Texas property at Raymondville. I had heard stories of other
Nilgai hunters about how scarce the animals could be and how they
were almost impossible to stalk. I had arrived a day early so
Lendell decided to take advantage of the afternoon and try a short
hunt. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised to see
a herd of Nilgai within minutes of beginning our hunt. In the first
two hours of my hunt I suppose I got to look at at least 100 head of
Nilgai and 6 to 8 quality bulls. Later that afternoon I collected a
very nice bull that should qualify for an SCI Gold Medal. What a
great afternoon. Len dell is a great guide and a first class
outfitter. It is obvious that his goal is to make your hunt a
pleasant and memorable experience. I highly recommend L&L Hunting
Services and look forward to checking out his other hunts.

Lendell, thank you very much for the Nilgai hunt in South Texas
last week. I have never had such a hunting experience in all of my
