What's your kill ratio on your hunts?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer Kill ratios vary because of the type of game being hunted, time of year, and location. In general, the kill ratio is in the high 90% range, because we manage our ranch in a way that will keep producing quality animals year to year - as we have for the last ten to fifteen years. Some years we may harvest half as much as the year before due to Mother Nature's influence on the land.

What kind of condition do I need to be in?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer The better condition you are in the more enjoyable the hunt will be for you. However, if you are in average condition you will have a great time.

How are the meals and lodging?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer The lodging and meals vary with the type of hunt you decide on. I will furnish lunch on most of the hunts. A typical lunch is sandwiches with chips and drinks. On full service hunts you will find the food to be more than adequate.

What style of hunting will I be doing?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer Depending on the game, time of year, and weather conditions, the hunting style will vary. For instance, we may start the day off with spot and stalk style. If the weather turns hot we may still-hunt a watering hole. The basics styles I use are spot and stalk, safari style, blinds, and still hunting.

What is the distance of an average shot?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer First, I like to match the caliber of the rifle to the type of game being hunted. For example; if I'm carrying my 7 MM Mag. and hunting whitetail in West Texas I will squeeze off a 300 yard shot if the weather conditions are right. If the game is Nilgai in South Texas I won't squeeze off a shot unless I'm 225 yards away or less. I encourage my hunters to shoot only if they are comfortable with the distance.

After my trophy is down, what is next?
Show Answer |
Hide Answer It depends on the type of hunt you've selected. If you've selected a full service hunt your trophy will be skinned and the meat de-boned. I will then transport your trophy along with your meat to a qualified taxidermist & packing house. If the hunting package you select is not a full service, you have the option of caring for your downed animal yourself. Additional services, described in the hunting package provided at your request, can be purchased separately.
